Frederik Heetmeyer

I am an engineering graduate working as quantitative developer in Pfäffikon SZ, Switzerland.

I graduated with distinction from ETH Zurich with an M.Sc. in Robotics, Systems and Control in Dec 2022. I hold a B.Sc. in Engineering Science from the Technical University of Munich, from which I graduated with high distinction in Apr 2020.

I co-authored a paper during my graduation thesis at the UZH/ETH Institute of Neuroinformatics on optimization for systems control with a learned dynamics model, part of the learning to control project. We presented it at ICRA 2023 in May. My supervisor was Marcin Paluch. In summer 2021, I completed a semester project at the same lab.

From Jan 2022, I interned as a quantitative developer in Zurich for 4 months and joined full-time after completing my studies.

I wrote an undergraduate thesis on deep reinforcement learning for evolutionary computation at TUM Computer Vision Group. My supervisor was Vladimir Golkov.

I was a visiting student researcher at Stanford Computational Imaging Lab in summer quarter 2018. There, I worked under supervision of Matthew O'Toole.

From Jun-Aug 2020, I interned as Junior AI Engineer at appliedAI.

iOS Apps

When I was 15 to 17, I programmed and published a few simple apps under the brand Appvention on the iOS app store. They are not available anymore, but you can read a review of Memocolor, one of the apps, here.

Swiss Talent Forum 2016

I was invited to attend the Swiss Talent Forum 2016. We got matched up in groups to develop big data-driven ideas. You can view our final presentation about consent-based data sharing here.

Pre-University @ HULT

I took part in a pre-university program for incoming high school seniors in London in 2015. Gain an impression here.
